The Chang School recently held a hybrid in-person and virtual event on fashion innovation and disruption with Executive and Artistic director of Indigenous Fashion Arts (IFA), Sage Paul and CEO of the Toronto Fashion Incubator, Susan Langdon.

Topics discussed included the advancement of fashion in unique and unexpected ways – including the intersection of sustainability and Indigenous practices and the tension with capitalism, representation and community building and facilitating reciprocal relationships locally and internationally, and Paul’s work with the non-profit Indigenous Fashion Arts, and the challenges and opportunities within the Canadian fashion systems and cycles today.

The event was moderated by Jennifer Pilkington, Academic Coordinator, Fashion Innovation at The Chang School.

Audience members included current and prospective students, Chang School alumni, and fashion industry professionals.
