Episode 2: FLOW 93.5 with Denham Jolly
He owned and operated profitable nursing homes in Toronto and Mississauga. He published Contrast, the influential newspaper for Blacks, and, after a decade-long fight, won the CRTC licence for FLOW 93.5, Canada's first urban music radio station. When he decided to write a book about his life and times, In The Black: My Life won the Toronto Book Award. But there's another side to Denham's story – it's about his lifelong fight against racism and discrimination.
