CSAC 531 - Directing and Performing Ibsen

Course Description

Working with Ibsen’s plays of the director’s choosing, this course explores the work of reading the play, of analysis and of intuitive reactions. We put the director’s ideas into action, on the stage, and with actors in the class. For actors, the course will look at the presence of psychology, the subconscious, and all that is under Ibsen’s characters. A class specifically about the theatre of Ibsen but also about putting the director’s ideas into the three dimensions of the theatre for today’s audience.
