CNUR 831 - Leadership Development for Practice
Course Description
This course will focus on the nurse's role in providing leadership and facilitating change in both personal and professional contexts. Content will include analysis of theory and concepts related to leadership, followership, change and effective communication within a diverse workforce. The impact of Informatics on the delivery of nursing and health care will be explored. The use of research findings and their application to practice will be emphasized. Students will be expected to identify and apply leadership strategies for personal development and professional practice.Sample Course Outline

In order to take this course, you must have a current nursing registration/licensure with a College of Nurses or nursing regulatory body in a Canadian province or territory. You must also be formally admitted to the post diploma BScN degree through the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing prior to enrolment in this course.
The scheduling reflects the classroom-based instruction. In addition, students are required to participate in a mandatory weekly Internet component.
Students enrolled in Internet sections of this course are required to write the course test and/or exams online at preassigned dates and times that may vary or extend past the scheduled course end date. Details will be provided at the start of each course.
