Toronto Metropolitan University Concert Choir

Fauré Requiem: A Concert of Hope and Renewal

Usher in the spring with a luminous evening of choral music celebrating the season, love, and the beauty of the moon. The program features Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem, a masterpiece known for its serenity and message of peace.

The concert also includes lively Renaissance madrigals celebrating spring, followed by songs of love and moonlight from around the world, including Thai, Arabic, and Hebrew traditions, along with beloved jazz classics such as “Moonglow” and "It's Only a Paper Moon.”

Celebrate the season with an uplifting night of music and community.

Meet the Music Director

J. Rigzin Tute is an accomplished singer and conductor who has been performing since childhood. He holds a BA and MA in Music from Wilfrid Laurier University and Westminster Choir College in Princeton.

Rigzin has sung with the world-renowned Westminster Choir at the Festival of Two Worlds in Charleston, South Carolina, and Spoleto, Italy, and has performed in concerts with the New York Philharmonic and choirs across Canada. He brings a wealth of experience, a deep love of music, and an engaging teaching style that makes every performance inspiring and accessible.
