This is something that Dr. Ceni Babaoglu wishes she knew when she entered the field of data science, machine learning, and AI.

The distinguished academic leader and researcher is responsible for running and managing data science programs at TMU, demonstrating her leadership and commitment to advancing STEM education. Dr. Babaoglu is also an Associate Member of the Graduate Studies and a member of both the Continuing Education Contract Lecturers Advisory Group at Toronto Metropolitan University and the Microcredentials Committee at Toronto Metropolitan University.

For those looking to enter the field of data science, machine learning, and AI, Dr. Babaoglu advises people to build a solid foundation in mathematics and programming as well as seek out mentors in the field to gain valuable insights. But most important of all, she says to, “stay curious and committed to continuous learning as data science is constantly evolving and being adaptable is one of the best ways to stay ahead.”
