A Night of Celebration and Triumph: Honouring the 2025 Spanning the Gaps Transition Foundations Program Graduates
On the evening of Wednesday, October 15, 2025, The Chang School hosted the 2025 Spanning the Gaps Transition Foundations Program Recognition event, celebrating the outstanding academic achievements of learners who completed the Transition Foundations Program (TFP). The event also celebrated TFP alumni who have completed an undergraduate program at Toronto Metropolitan University.
This annual event is more than a ceremony – it’s a celebration of dedication, lifelong learning, and the belief that education should be accessible to everyone. It was especially meaningful as we recognized not only the learners who recently completed the Transition Foundations Program, but also TFP alumni who have gone on to successfully complete their undergraduate degrees at TMU.
The evening was made even more memorable by class valedictorian Maria Fernanda, who delivered a heartfelt and inspiring speech about her educational journey. She spoke candidly about the challenges she faced before joining TFP and how the program gave her the tools and confidence to pursue her dreams, ultimately earning her a spot at TMU.
Another highlight was the announcement of this year’s scholarship recipients, including Venise Williams, the proud new recipient of the SlimmDuck Foundation Scholarship.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the entire Spanning the Gaps team, whose tireless work continues to create pathways to higher education for learners from all walks of life. And we couldn’t be prouder of the TFP learners. Their hard work, determination, and commitment to lifelong learning is truly inspiring.
