From Stream to Skill: Connecting Learners to What’s Next — Live on Twitch

On Thursday, April 2, The Chang School took to Twitch to connect with our community of learners interested in pursuing a career in gaming. The two-hour livestream hosted by Dr. Kris Alexander – TMU’s Educational Technologist and Professor of Video Games – at The Creative School’s Red Bull Gaming Hub, offered a behind-the-scenes look at what the gaming industry is all about and where it is headed.

True to the spirit of Twitch, the event was fast-paced and conversational. Viewers tuned in, asked questions in real time, and engaged directly with Dr Kris and the other streamers. Dylan Ravka, instructor of the Certificate in Programming for Game Development, popped in to talk about the program and share some game demos his learners had programmed with zero previous coding experience. For the last part of the stream, Dr. Kris had all attendees engaged in a group online game.
