On the evening of October 17, the Spanning the Gaps team held a celebration event at Heaslip House recognizing the academic achievements of its learners who completed the Transition Foundations Program. The event also recognized former Transition Foundations Program learners who have completed an undergraduate program at Toronto Metropolitan University.

Food and refreshments were served while learners, alumni, staff, and donors mingled before the reception took place. The Transition Foundations' class of 2024 valedictorian, Kenisha Wilks, shared her remarks and congratulated her fellow learners on their momentous achievements. Certificates and gifts were handed out to learners and award winners were announced, including this year's recipient of the SlimmDuck Scholarship.

Since its inception in 2007, Spanning the Gaps has helped more than 1,400 learners gain access to post-secondary education. The graduates recognized at this event will be added to the program's growing roster of accomplished alumni.
