Course Description

This course develops conceptual and applied understandings of what a program is, how it is developed, and how its performance can be monitored and assessed. It describes the purposes, application and importance of planning and evaluation techniques in the health field and develops strategies for initiating and managing planning and evaluation activities. Fundamental elements of program planning and evaluation are detailed including the specification of program goals, objectives and operational indicators, and the matching of planning and evaluation questions to operational decision-making.

Notes

Online course sections are primarily asynchronous, except for the one-hour weekly live online sessions. In addition to the live sessions, you will engage in course-related activities through online tools such as announcements, discussions, and email to complement your independent learning. Note: There will be deadlines for assignment submissions, and you may be expected to participate in discussion board interactions with your peers on a regular basis.

Your instructor may also include occasional scheduled sessions for Q&As and other discussion activities, using web conferencing tools such as Zoom and Google Meet. More details will be included in your course outline available on the first day of class.
