Course Description

Introductory Spanish uses a communicative approach for students to learn basics of grammar, comprehension, and expression. Historic, social, and cultural aspects of the Spanish-speaking world are introduced through the study of short readings. This course is for students with no knowledge of Spanish.

Notes

All students must take an interview/placement assessment before enrolling in this course. New students who do not have a Toronto Metropolitan Student Number should Create a Student Profile and obtain a student number before completing the assessment.

Supplies and materials to be purchased by the student: Additional supplies and materials are required (cost TBA). 

On-campus exam requirement: Your final exam will be written in person at the Toronto Metropolitan University campus. If you live more than 100 km from the TMU campus, you may arrange to write your exam off campus using an approved off-campus invigilation service. Details on how to arrange off-campus invigilation will be provided prior to the first day of class.  Details on the date of your exam can be found in your course outline and/or on the Exams for Online Courses webpage.
