Course Description

This foundational course introduces the principles, processes, and industry dynamics shaping the built environment. Students will explore the broader industry landscape and examine procurement methods within the context of organizational structures that support various project delivery approaches. The course provides an in-depth study of essential time and cost control techniques, focusing on how these tools enable effective project execution. Emphasis is placed on bridging theory with practice through real-world case studies and examples drawn from across the built environment sector. This course is PMI-accredited and qualifies for 35 Professional Development Units (PDUs), meeting the educational requirement to apply for the PMP® exam.

Learners without professional project management experience should consider taking CTEC 210 first, or concurrently with this course.
