Course Description

This course introduces students to basic research designs, statistical concepts, and data-analysis procedures. Topics include describing and summarizing data, probability basics and hypothesis testing, t-tests, and an introduction to simple correlation and regression. A statistical software package is used throughout the course. This course is intended for students enrolled in the full-time BA psychology degree program or a psychology certificate.

Online Sections, On-campus exam requirement: Your final exam will be written in person at the Toronto Metropolitan University campus. If you live more than 100 km from the TMU campus, you may arrange to write your exam off-campus using an approved off-campus invigilation service. Prerequisites: CPSY 102 and CPSY 202
Antirequisite: SOC 411
