Course Description

This course will explore the practice of dramaturgy – working with playwrights to inspire, develop and refine new works of theatre. Through case studies, writing exercises and readings, dramaturg and theatre maker Brian Quirt will guide you through some of his approaches to 'dramaturgical thinking'’. Suitable for dramaturgs, actors, writers, and directors, this course will touch on how to give and receive feedback, with the goal of preparing you to collaborate more effectively in workshops and rehearsal.
