Course Description

The goal of this course is to enable students to develop a comprehensive understanding of Canada’s health care system. Through reports, web pages, videos, articles, group discussions, and written reflections, participants will develop an understanding of the history of the healthcare system, the legislative and organisational structure of the healthcare system both federally and provincially/territorially. Canada’s publicly funded system, the primary health care model as well as an overview of reproductive health care service delivery in Canada will also be included as part of this course. By the completion of the course, participants will be knowledgeable about Canada’s healthcare system,  and be able to reflect on principles related to reproductive justice and equity.
