What is a women's film? This course will look at four women filmmakers Bigelow, Campion, Polley and Ackerman - all extremely successful, globally-awarded writers and directors to see if the tools they employ, the narrative themes they explore and the more subtle aspects of their craft - use of music, editing, casting and art direction - reflects back to their female sensitivities and their experience of being women in a man's world.
