Course Description

This course uses a communicative approach emphasizing oral comprehension and expression without omitting the written aspects of Spanish. Students develop their knowledge of the basics of Spanish grammar. Historical, social and cultural aspects of the Spanish-speaking world are introduced through the study of longer readings.

Notes

All students must take an interview/placement assessment before enrolling in this course.

Supplies and materials to be purchased by the student: Additional supplies and materials are required (cost TBA). 

This course will require you to be online for live lectures every week at the scheduled time. More details will be included in your course outline available on the first day of class.

On-campus exam requirement: Beginning Fall 2022, your final exam will be written in person at the Toronto Metropolitan University campus. If you live more than 100 km from the TMU campus, you may arrange to write your exam off campus using an approved off-campus invigilation service. Details on how to arrange off-campus invigilation will be provided prior to the first day of class.  Details on the date of your exam can be found on the Exams for Online Courses webpage.
