Course Description

The aim of this course is to provide a comprehensive study of dynamic macroeconomic models. Topics include the stylized facts of business cycles, the two-period model, credit market frictions and social security, money and business cycles, and international macroeconomics. The effect of economic shocks and fiscal and monetary policy changes will be examined in the context of both closed and open economies.

On-campus exam requirement: Your final exam (and beginning Fall 2024 your midterm exam) will be written in person at the Toronto Metropolitan University campus. If you live more than 100 km from the TMU campus, you may arrange to write your exam off-campus using an approved off-campus invigilation service.
