CITM 820 - Information Systems Security and Privacy
Course Description
This course considers the technical, operational, and managerial issues of computer and network security in an operational environment. Industry best-practices relating to computer security including schemes for breaking security, and techniques for detecting and preventing security violations are the core focus of this course. This course will also explore the principles of data privacy, threats to privacy, international and national policy, particularly related to privacy-enhancing technologies as they apply to the management of information systems and e-Business.Sample Course Outline

Online Delivery
This course is offered in an online, asynchronous format except for its final exam and midterm, which are held on campus.
Asynchronous learning means that you typically will not have to be online at specific times. You will engage with the course material through online tools such as announcements, discussions, and email. Learning will be based on weekly module content and activities you can work through independently. Note: You will have deadlines for assignment submissions, and you may be expected to participate in discussion board interactions with your peers on a regular basis.
Your instructor may also include occasional scheduled sessions for Q&As and other discussion activities using web conferencing tools such as Zoom and Google Meet. Details will be included in your course outline, which will be available on the first day of classes.
