CDPB 999 - Publishing Intensive
Join our online Publishing Intensive and Summer Film School Online Information Session
The Publishing Intensive allows participants to complete six of the eight courses required to earn the Certificate in Publishing through an intensive three-month (May, June, and July) program. This unique fast-track program covers both print and digital publishing, including overviews of industry sectors (trade and educational), as well as skills-based training in copy editing, production, design, and publicity.
Who Should Enrol?
University graduates and career-changers looking to enter the publishing industry with a set of hands-on, practical skills.
- Six Certificate in Publishing courses
- Computer lab and classroom access, as well as access to other services and support
- Ongoing instructor and academic coordinator support and counselling
- Access to internships, job opportunities, and program awards
Lectures and coursework are scheduled daily (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) over three months (May, June, and July). All classes will be held on campus.
Two of the courses require Adobe Creative Cloud and a Mac laptop. Your software access is covered by The Chang School for the duration of the Intensive. If you do not have access to a Mac laptop, please contact Ana Abreu, program coordinator, at email@example.com

CDPB 103 Production for Books, Journals, and Reports
CDPB 110 Publicity for Book Publishers
CDPB 200 Publishing Overview: Education
CDPB 212 Visual Skills for Publishing
To complete the requirements for the Certificate in Publishing, students may take the two remaining credits in subsequent terms.
Each week of the 12-week Publishing Intensive offers a full schedule of in-class instruction, group work, instructor support, and guest speakers. Students will spend two full weeks immersed in each of the six courses included in the Intensive.
