Course Description

Successful magazine and editorial assignments require research, human interest and proficient execution. This course will concentrate on preparing and presenting a successful photo story and provide opportunities to connect with industry professionals. Whether creating images for an international magazine, or for local publication, an editorial photographer must go beyond the commonplace and deliver unique images that tell compelling stories of people, places, and/or events. Additional techniques will include people and candid photo skills, enhanced composition, and sales promotion.

Notes

A prerequisite may be waived if the student has specific professional experience. Registered certificate program students who do not have the prerequisites and who wish to take this course must contact Client Services at ce@torontomu.ca for more information.

Students must have an interchangeable lens digital camera.
