CITM 107 - Managerial Decision Making
Course Description
The course emphasizes how to apply various mathematical techniques in the support of managerial decisions in the various functional areas of business. It is subdivided into three major parts: part one covers the study of linear phenomena, including linear functions, matrices, systems of linear equations, linear inequalities, and linear programming; part two covers non-linear phenomena and focuses mainly on quadratic, exponential, and logarithmic functions; and part three examines probability concepts including uncertainties, conditional probability, and Bayes' formula.Notes

Online Delivery
This course is offered in an online, asynchronous format except for its final exam, which is held on campus.
Asynchronous learning means that you typically will not have to be online at specific times. You will engage with the course material through online tools such as announcements, discussions, and email. Learning will be based on weekly module content and activities you can work through independently. Note: You will have deadlines for assignment submissions, and you may be expected to participate in discussion board interactions with your peers on a regular basis.
Your instructor may also include occasional scheduled sessions for Q&As and other discussion activities using web conferencing tools such as Zoom and Google Meet. Details will be included in your course outline, which will be available on the first day of classes.
On-campus exam requirement: Your final exam will be written in person at the Toronto Metropolitan University campus. If you live more than 100 km from the TMU campus, you may arrange to write your exam off-campus using an approved off-campus invigilation service.
