Course Description

This course examines live CC production and mandatory quality standards with hands-on practice  and feedback. Assignments include a 10-minute live CC production, calculating accuracy  according to CRTC regulations (NER), and in-class peer review. Students are expected to  demonstrate an understanding of live CC production through respeaking and NER evaluation.  While professional live captioners will benefit from understanding NER scoring, this course will  build upon students’ prerequisite knowledge and is ideal preparation of NER certification.
