Course DescriptionEmploy industry-standard 3-D modeling software SOLIDWORKS for product designers. Start with an introduction to the SOLIDWORKS interface, the sketching and modeling tools, and orient planes in 3-D model space. Translate a 2-D sketch into a 3-D model and execute multiple 3-D models and combine them. Understand how to draft 2-D and 3-D drawing documents for product design. Prepare a 3-D model ready for optional 3-D printing at Toronto Metropolitan University's 3-D Printing Lab. (Formerly Product Design and Ideation)
NotesStudents must own or have access to SOLIDWORKS and a laptop loaded with this software.
