Meet Our Panelists
Lisa McKenzie is the Director of the Canadian College of Health Information Management with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA), the regulatory body for health information accreditation and certification in Canada. In this role, Lisa supports academic partners across the country with curricular standards for health information programs and oversees the certification process for health information professionals.
She has been a Certified Health Information Management (CHIM) professional and a health system leader in Newfoundland and Labrador and nationally for more than 17 years, working to advance standards and best practices in health information within provincial and national contexts.
Abbas Zavar, MD, MPH, MHI, is a physician-scientist, executive health-system leader, and digital health expert with over 25 years of experience across clinical medicine, health informatics, and AI integration.
At the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, he teaches in the Master of Health Informatics program and serves as Co-Chair and Executive Director of the Future of Health Leadership, Information and Policy (FHLIP) Conference.
