Course Description

This course explores many fascinating intersections between politics and cinema. It examines how cinema shapes our understanding of politics, and how the political world, in turn, is influenced by cinema. Students learn to critically evaluate films through topics such as the use of artistic licence and the influence of state authorities in film making. They also critically assess, through film, significant political events, processes and personalities in relation to both Canada and the world. (Theory)
