Course Description
This course is an introduction to evolution, diversity, and ecology. Topics include natural selection and the patterns of evolutionary change in allele frequencies and speciation. The course will introduce the diversity of living organisms resulting from evolutionary processes. The course will explore how these organisms interact with each other and their physical environment, and the feedback of these interactions on evolution. Laboratory exercises complement lectures.Notes
Note: Attendance at labs is mandatory. Labs begin the first week of classes. You will need to activate your Toronto Metropolitan email account in order to receive communication from your lab instructor.
Come prepared for your lab. You will need a lab coat, safety glasses or goggles, nitrile gloves, and a lab notebook. You should dress appropriately: no shorts, no skirts, no sandals, no open toed or open heeled shoes, and no high heels.
